Prop Firm Rule Changes Tracker

Prop firms change drawdown math, payout terms, and account lineups more often than most traders check for. This page tracks every verified change we can source for the five firms below — what the rule was, what it became, and what it means for a strategy that isn't watching the news.

Each firm's page below lists dated entries with a link to the firm's official source. Rules move fast enough that you should still confirm the current terms on the firm's own site before funding an evaluation — this tracker is a change log, not a live mirror of their rulebook. For the full current rule set side by side, see the Prop Firm Rules Database.

Why this tracker exists

A backtested Pine Script strategy is only as safe as the rulebook it was built against. Prop firms revise drawdown mechanics, daily loss limits, consistency caps, and payout terms on their own schedule, usually with a help-center article and no broad announcement. A strategy sized for last year's rules can breach this year's without a single line of its own logic changing.

Each entry below states the date, the old rule, the new rule, and a short note on what that shift actually means for a script running unattended — not just a discretionary trader reading the fine print. Every entry links to the firm's own source so you can verify it yourself before it factors into a live decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Did Apex Trader Funding change its rules in 2026?
Yes. On March 1, 2026, Apex retired its legacy Evaluation/Performance Account line for new purchases and replaced it with two separate products — EOD Trailing Drawdown and Intraday Trailing Drawdown. New accounts pay out at 100% with a 50% payout-consistency requirement, versus the legacy line's 30% cap. Existing legacy accounts can still renew under the old terms. Full details on the Apex rule changes page.
What is Topstep's Express Funded Account consistency rule in 2026?
Topstep's XFA now offers two payout paths. Standard needs 5 winning days of at least $150 each, non-consecutive, with no cap on any single day. Consistency needs only 3 winning days of $150+, but the single largest day can't exceed 40% of total net profit. Both paths are subject to a per-request payout cap of 50% of account balance. See the Topstep rule changes page for the dated history.
Why do prop firm rule changes matter for an automated Pine Script strategy?
A script encodes a firm's rules as fixed parameters — daily loss limit, drawdown type, consistency cap, contract limits. None of those update themselves. When a firm changes one of them, a strategy still running the old parameters can breach the new rule without anything about its trading behavior changing. Checking this tracker before redeploying a strategy on a given firm is the cheapest insurance against that.

Rules move. Your script shouldn't break because of it.

Every strategy in our lineup ships with a daily kill switch, a drawdown guard, and a session filter built for the rules prop firms actually enforce.
